Longtime blog readers will probably know about my obsession with unicorns and all things kawaii, despite dressing more like a 'goth' these days there will always be a place in my heart for the Japanese sub-culture.
This pink unicorn tee from The Mountain has kawaii written all over it and is the alternative colour version of that lilac one I featured back in March. I decided to inject a necessary amount of "grunge" to the outfit by pairing the t-shirt with a pair of dungarees (one strap style), boots-despite being "summer" these shoes are my vice and my round sunnies.
Needless to say I cannot wait to experience "proper" summer weather LA style...only 4 more sleeps to go.

Propercorn Popcorn

Propercorn Popcorn have recently launched a new campaign called "Institute of Flavour" where they are inviting everyone to learn about what it takes to develop and make flavours the Propercorn way. As the key leaders in taste and flavour in the world of Popcorn, they are encouraging people to experiment themselves with flavour and tastes on popcorn to form their very own signature seasoning. You can do this by visiting www.instituteofflavour.com
If you are the lucky winner of the tastemaker competition your limited edition flavour will be made and sold nationwide. As a savoury addict-crisps and popcorn are my vices so I decided to experiment with the flavours such as Halluomi, Black Seasme Seed and Cracked Pepper. But if you fancy yourself more of a sweet tooth then you can experiment with ingredients such as candy floss, Rum and Lemonade. You can seriously make some crazy combination popcorn flavours, that might actually work well together-so definitely have fun with this!

(All Propercorn popcorn is suitable for Vegans, Gluten & Wheat free and GM free)

In collaboration with Propercorn Popcorn- who could resist though, especially as an avid Propercorn eater!?

Grunge Monkey

With it being just under 2 weeks to till I fly out to LA for a couple of weeks of sunshine and pretending to live like a local, the packing preparations have fully begun. For me there is nothing like that feeling of anticipation before heading off on holiday and all those things leading up to the big fly out day, that make you even more excited that it's just around the corner. From planning "LA themed" playlists *ahem* Red Hot Chilli Peppers, QOTSA (obviously), Hole and The Kills to name a few. To those afternoons spent holiday shopping and deliberating on the 'hat situation'-forever having issues on finding ones that actually suit me/fit >_<

Along with those pre-planned holiday outfits I will definitely be bringing along this "Black Skull" t-shirt (which is part of their "Headspace" collection) from the 'uber' cool brand "Grunge Monkey". Created by the lovely Kim in 2013 stocking vintage finds and original designs inspired by the worlds of surrealism and fantasy, taking the form of things such as t-shirts, tote bags and wall art. Their Etsy and ASOS Marketspace shops are must for one-off/unique pieces, they also have a shop on Brook St, in Chester.
I also decided to pair the tee with this dainty infinity necklace from Rings & Tings, the infinity sign has a very personal meaning for me- to the fact where I even have it tattooed on my arm! So this necklace is a perfect accompaniment for an outfit where I want to keep jewellery simple and minimalistic.

Weleda Skincare

Last Monday I was invited on behalf of Weleda to attend the Northampton University Graduate Fashion Week show, as they were sponsoring the backstage beauty side of the catwalk. You can recap on the Catwalk show here. They are a brand that have been going since 1921 and pride themselves on using natural ingredients within their products and being an environmental, ethical and social sustainable company. Today's post include a range of their products both cult favourites and new releases.

First up is Weleda's Skin Food which is an iconic beauty classic that is also celebrating 90 years. This enriching balm restores radiance and moisture to your skin, and contains viola tricolor, calendula and chamomile. This product is a saviour for those suffering from dry rough patches of skin, with a fragrance that is an instant pick-me-up. I will be definitely popping this in my hand luggage when travelling in a couple of weeks, as I know it will be saving my skin from that drying aeroplane air.

Weleda also produce a range of baby products that come in a wide variety of different uses. I have actually been really enjoying using their Calendula Shampoo and Body wash, as a body wash. As I suffer from extremely sensitive skin and often end up using baby products, this one leaves my skin feeling clean (due to the Calendula extract) and moisturised thanks to the Almond Oil.

Next up is a new range of perfumes Weleda have recently released called "Jardin de Vie". The one photographed is called "Grenade" and is part of the Pomegranate collection. Other fragrances from the collection include "Rose", and Agrume, which is inspired by the "Sea Buckthorn" range-which I am very intrigued to smellI have found the "Grenade" fragrance to be a perfect everyday scent with a slightly exotic feel, due to the notes of Orange, Davana and Vanilla.

Speaking on the lines of sensitive skin the Almond Smoothing Facial Cream is a creamy moisturiser that strengths your skins natural protective barrier. With the added ingredient of Almond Oil this product also gently nourishes and supports your natural skin balance with essential fatty oils. This product is definitely one for those of you who suffer from redness and inflation. *Plus it smells of Bakewell Tarts!!*

Space

Continuing on from my obsession with space and its distant galaxies from a couple of outfit posts back in this post. This The Mountain tee is probably one of my favourites from the ones I've featured on the blog so far, although the Wolves tee comes close. I just adore the graphics and realistic details of the print, from the moon phases to the way the spacecraft has been superimposed on the milky way.

Graduate Fashion Week 2016 : Northampton University Show

Designer : Jordan Shields

Designer : Gabi Taylor

Designer : Prabina Pun
Designer : Sean Leggett

Designer : Dakota Wrist

Designer : Tiffany Ruff

On Monday I was invited on behalf of Weleda, the world leading manufacturer of holistic natural cosmetics to attend the Northampton University Show at Graduate Fashion Week. Weleda's iconic Skin Food is a cult favourite and considered a fashion week essential by professional make-up artists and supermodels such as Alexa Chung, Suki Waterhouse and Erin O'Connor. I will be doing a full post on their amazing array of products very soon-so keep an eye out.

The collection showcased a wide range of fashion garments, textile prints and footwear/accessories with students taking inspiration from a subjects from the clash of two different lifestyles to the plastic waste and the introduction of the plastic carrier bag charge. The designs themselves were incredible, I especially enjoyed how varied the show was design wise, with both women and menswear featured in the line-up. These designers are definitely ones to watch in the near future.

Camisole

With the 90s trend in full bloom this season and it being a trend/style that I have fully fallen for, both music and fashion wise. I thought it was about time to try the infamous t-shirt and camisole number a la Cher (Clueless), and dare I say I absolutely love this combo. It's also one which I can see making an easy transition into my wardrobe with pieces such as thin strapped maxi/midi dresses and of course more camisole style tops.

How gorgeous are the colours in this tie-dye t-shirt from The Mountain?! There is something about those array of shades which I absolutely love and the combination of the different hues that they form-which also (coincidentally) go with the floral themed backdrop. For this t-shirt I decided to keep everything else to a minimal colour palette-i.e black as I really wanted the colours to pop against the contrast.
That being said I recently decided to hop on the "patch denim" band wagon and have my very own go at the trend, using patches that I picked up from Monki. It is definitely in the beginning stages as there are so many patches I want to add, included a large flower motif on the back. Needless to say watch this space...
