UNIF Frost

Photos by the *amazing* @Kate_Chorley // Lookbook
When I first came across this pastel striped jumper on the UNIF website I just knew it just had to be mine-to fulfil all of my pastel coloured dreams. Everything from its high neck shape, to having every pastel shade under the sun plastered all over it. This jumper is certainly one that has stolen my heart.

As it was my first ever UNIF purchase (and order) I was slightly concerned about the sizing of such an item, as it can take up to a couple of weeks to arrive due to international shipping, and I desperately didn't want to be disappointed. Nevertheless I wasn't. In fact sizing wise it was near to perfect, although you could probably get away with going a size down due to its oversized nature.
For todays outfit I decided to pair it with a couple of simple, key pieces such as this white skater skirt and grey backpack as I really wanted the jumper to be the eye-catcher of the whole look. Topped off with an (obligatory) unicorn necklace, my pastel (kawaii) inspired outfit was complete.

Levi's

Ever since moving to Nottingham I have fallen in love with their array of vintage/antique shops, and independent boutiques.  Cow vintage was a brand that I have been aware of for over a year, so when I saw that they had a store in Notts I couldn't believe my luck. As vintage shopping goes, this is one of those shops that makes browsing (and rummaging) through vintage an ease as everything is extremely well laid out and organised. Also with such a vast collection of both decades and styles it has become my one-stop destination to loose myself in and escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Owning a pair of vintage Levi jeans have been top of my list for far too long to recall, but like with any piece of clothing I have a somewhat strict 'criteria' that they have to fall into. This 'criteria' included being of the high-waisted/mom jean style, dark wash and under £30. Some may say that this is 'a lot' to ask for a pair of good quality jeans, but I was determined to achieve it.

Remarkably I did indeed fulfil it, with this very pair of jeans costing me just £18...I still can't quite believe my luck. If you are in Nottingham or fancy yourself as more of an online shopper than be sure to check out WE ARE COW, as you never know what bargains you might lay your hands on.

My Top 3 Blogger Apps

Apps are an essential part of most peoples lives, whether thats using an app to find out how to get from a to b or sharing your life on social media.  As a blogger I'm always on the lookout for new apps to promote by blog and connect with brands, in an exciting innovative way. Besides from using the usual app suspects i.e. instagram, twitter and snapchat, I always try to get into the habit of using something new that I wouldn't normally go for. So I have decided to share my top 3 (free) apps that I feel are worth the time investing in and exploring.

First up is new discovery called "feels", who work in collaboration with Storm (legendary modelling agency). It is basically a platform where you can upload your outfits or youtube videos onto your account, interact with other users by 'liking' their look/video and commenting. The thing that I was particularly drawn to within the app, is that you have the opportunity to enter yourself to work with brands-through their casting section.
At the moment boohoo have a casting to find a model to appear in their exciting christmas online campaign.  So if you fancy yourself as the next "Cara" or want to give modelling a whirl, then Storm are currently holding a casting to find new modelling talent. Needless to say this app is definitely worth looking at if you fancy working with your favourite brands or sharing your ootd/youtube videos on an exciting new platform. They are also available on both the apple app store and on android devices.

Next up is another fairly new app called Villoid, you may or may not have come across.  You can use this app to create your dream outfits to fulfil your hearts desired, using items available on their product search.  Also this includes following some of your favourite brands to have a peek at what they are lovin' and creating at the moment. Another great thing about the app is that if there was a particular photo/image that you admired, you can include it within the layout of the collage to create a 'inspired by' look. You can even include a photo from your outfit and share with users where you can buy 'similar' products featured in the outfit. At the moment the app is only available through the apple app store, but I have heard that they are in the process of creating an android version too! Beside to keep an eye out for that.
Last up is an app which isn't necessarily 'new' to me but I have been using for a while and is a crucial step in my social media promotion-hence why I am sharing it. VSCOcam is a photo editing app which I use to edit ALL of my instagram photos, as I love how user friendly it is but also how you have control over everything within the photo. (I'll admit, I'm a control 'freak'.) From lighting, contrast to the opacity of the filters, this app is one for those looking to be experimental with their imagery.
Additionally their filters are pretty awesome too, as there are just so many to choose from. My personal favourites are M5 and P5, which I use to create the perfect colour tone in my photos. This is one for those who want to experiment with their photography editing skills. The app is available on both apple and android devices.

90s Tartan

Photos by @ima.mermaid (link)
I can't believe it has been nearly two weeks since my last outfit post, needless to say that life has been extremely busy and fun-filled since moving up to Nottingham. I have started exploring the city and all its unique offerings it has, including a shop that stocks my top three favourite brands *score*. As well as the alternative side to "Freshers Week". Yep-I'm going to admit it. I hate clubbing. I always have and my attitude towards it hasn't changed. Though despite this I have to say I pushed myself outside my comfort zone to do things I wouldn't normally do-including going to plays and gigs by myself. It has been an experience nonetheless and whilst everyone and their mum is coming down with "freshers-flu" (glorified cold), I cannot wait to get stuck into my course (Fashion Communication & Promotion).

So... onto the outfit which features a couple of new-ish purchases from New Look. I have been lusting over owning a tartan skirt ever since I first spotted Cher from Clueless sporting one. As I just love how there is something so 90s about how you can style them. Whether that's with the classic long-sleeve roll neck to your all-time favourite band tee.  I have always admired those tartan American Apparel tennis skirts, but could never bring myself to part with that much cash. At around £15 (so I recall) for this New Look alternative I couldn't resist, however I have just realised that they don't stock it anymore-damn. So I've included something similar below. Let me know if you too are into the tartan/check skirt trend!

P.S I have just realised it is my birthday in three days time, which means in three days I will no longer be a teenager...all I can say is bring on my 20s. >_<

#FFAWDressUP Wishlist

When FarFetch invited me to take part in their fashion challenge to style a designer dress for the Autumn/Winter seasons, to show that dresses shouldn't be neglected when the weather turns colder. I couldn't resist creating the ultimate *dream* designer outfit that is both practical and stylish.

With the dress as my starting point for the look, I decided to go for this comic number from Lanvin. As a self-confessed addict of anything space inspired I knew I had to include this dress and use it as a source of inspiration for the look. With space on the agenda this metallic coat was one of those items that I immediately fell in love with. Besides from being extremely stylish I can imagine it being exceptionally warm come the colder months. Long coats are definitely a A/W 'must' in my books as there is something so chic about wearing an oversized coat, over a feminine mini-dress.

Next up are these amazing Charlotte Olympia boots. For me I don't think any 'designer' outfit is complete without a piece from (my all time favourite shoe designer) Charlotte Olympia. These knee high boots would be perfect for running around town doing errands to even dressing up a simple outfit.

Now for those all important accessories-the items that can immediately transform an outfit. With practical being key for the look I decided to opt for this See by ChloƩ backpack to keep all your trusted belongings safe and weather-proof in this leather bag. Which I decided to pair with this gorgeous faux fur scarf from Shrimps (the brand of faux-fur dreams).
Finally I finished the look with a pair of these teal Thomasine 'Paris' gloves, as I often choose my accessories based on the colours in the outfit i.e. the dress. So there you have it your AW proof outfit is complete, with an added pair of tights-for obvious reasons.
