Postcards from Paris no.2

It is such a strange thought to think that I was wondering the streets of Paris just over a week ago. With the day being spent taking in the sights around me and (forever) dreaming of living in a classic "Parisian" apartment, along the Seine river. I found myself refusing to get on the train home. So today I thought I would share with you some of my favourite photos from the trip, capturing the feel of the city, as well as re-living it through these shots.

We decided to start the day with the iconic Eiffel Tower, at the Trocadero view point, from there we walked along the river to visit the Lourve and take photos of it's scenic surroundings.
After a quick pit stop (McDonalds trip f.y.i) we hopped back on the metro (some of which have air-conditioning!! Why doesn't the tube have this!?) To visit Montmartre's church and artist quarters.
For those planning on visiting Montmartre I would definitely recommend getting a cable car up to the top as the steps are a killer! Spending 1.50€ for the trip up to the top never felt so good.

We decided to spend the remaining afternoon there as the creative atmosphere was incredible to surrounded by, complete with artists drawing passerbys and a (impromptu) live music act filling the air waves. As the station was just a 15 minutes away, we decided to walk back to get our train home, which I loved as it was lovely to walk through the "Garment District" of the city, taking inspiration from the rolls of fabric and designs on the way home. Needless to say the train home was spent looking up Air BnB apartments to stay in...a girl could only dream.

Glittery Unicorns

Whilst visiting Hyper Japan earlier in the month I came across an adorable stall called Sugar Coated Sprinkles displaying kawaii inspired jewellery and clothing, that was like a pastel girls dream. On the stand their were these amazing glitter unicorn necklaces, that immediately stole my heart with their glittery goodness. With that being said I knew I couldn't just walk away from said stall without one to satisfy my unicorn obsession. So glitter unicorns on the agenda (for today's outfit) I decided to pair the necklace with a band/fringe hem tee from New Look, as I'm obsessed with the 'worn' effect that it exudes. Finished with my much-loved pleather skirt and (o.t.t) gem sandals, for a rock meets kawaii 'look'.

Luna

Yesterday we took the train over to Paris for a day of exploring the city that I adore and taking too many photos of the Eiffel Tower-because you can never have too many.
The day was spent Metro hoping to take in all the city's famous landmarks including that infamous tower, the Louvre and exploring the streets of Montmartre . Which also included drooling over numerous works of Dali and Picasso for sale at one of their local boutique galleries...A girl can only dream of owning such pieces of work. I am actually planning on a doing a whole blog post dedicated to the trip, similar style to my previous travel posts (see here), which should be up within the next week or so.

So with the city of adoration in mind and the weather being on our side (warm and sunny f.y.i) I decided to give my new Missguided sale purchase it's first outing, as I couldn't think of a better occasion to do so.
I fell in love with the dress's space grunge inspired print and subtly lilac tie-dyed fabric, as well as how it is perfect for the warmer seasons. I decided to pair it with this amazing Luna necklace (Sailor Moon's cat) from the jewellery brand Glitterbomb (link to their website here), as I thought the crescent moon on Luna's face ties in fittingly with the print on the dress. If you haven't already then I urge you to check out their website and their awesome collection of sailor moon and Kawaii inspired necklaces. Which I decided to top off with a pair of (spice girl "esque") double side buns, ready for a day of falling in love with the city all over again.

"Unicornzzz"

After coming across the Kawaii inspired jewellery brand "Glitterbomb" the other week at Hyper Japan, I knew that I had to share their amazing pieces on my blog. So when the lovely Elise sent me over a couple of necklaces to style up in some kawaii/girly inspired outfit posts I couldn't contain my excitement.

Glitter bomb is an online website that specialises in acrylic hand-assembled, laser-cut jewellery at affordable prices. Ranging from statement necklaces to pastel hair clips and alpaca earrings (that are too adorable for words!).  For me the necklaces are my favourite as they can easily add a girly/kawaii touch to an outfit, as well as being an eye-catching accessory.
As well as this they have specialised collections to make browsing (and shopping) hassle-free. Predictably the "Sailor Moon" collection is one of my favourites, showcasing adorable "Luna" necklaces and those iconic Sailor Moon star earrings.

With that in mind I couldn't resist styling this pink "Unicornzzz" necklace, as I am sure you know by now about my obsession with that mystical creature. As the necklace was my starting point for the outfit I decided to take some inspiration from an outfit I spotted on Tokyofashion.com - a go-to for inspiration. From there I chose to pair it with this girly "Barbie" logo tee and my adorned metallic pleated skirt, to tie in with the pink and silver glitter accents from the necklace. Hair wise I've been wearing the 'double-bun' look a lot recently as I love how it adds a touch of  'grunge' to the outfit. Let me know if you want to see a quick tutorial on the hair-style. Finally if you haven't already then be sure to check out Glitterbomb's website here, and be prepared to create a never ending wishlist of their products <3

Hyper Japan - The Event

As I mentioned in my previous post (recap on that and the outfit here) I popped down to Hyper Japan last Friday for a fun-filled day of Japanese/kawaii goodness. The event itself was everything I hoped it would be (and more) as I came away with one goal in mind, I need to visit Japan asap (and buy everything kawaii, that I can lay my hands on).

The event was split into different zones, including the Nintendo gaming zone, Kawaii zone, Food zone and "Live" zone. I found this made it really easy to navigate your way round each of the different areas, making sure you didn't miss anything along the way. Obviously my favourite was the Kawaii zone as it showcased both internationally and UK based brands that sell inspired clothing and accessories including Glitter Bomb Jewellery, Sugar Coated Sprinkles and Dreamy Bows. I subsequently bought an adorable glitter unicorn necklace from Sugar Coated Sprinkles, that I fell in love with and will be showcasing on the blog very soon. As well as all the stands there were some incredible outfits on show by people visiting ranging from Cosplay to Lolita and Sailor Moon, which were really inspiring to see up close.

We then made our way over to the gaming area to try out some of the new games Nintendo has to offer, again this was such a fun experience to play and lose yourself within the gaming world. Afterwards we actually went back to the Kawaii zone for one last look round before we left and came across a mini food and sweet store called "Tofu Cute" (see photos below and above), which again I fell in love with for their rare treats and pastel offerings. Overall if you too are Japanese /Kawaii obsessed like myself, than I definitely recommend you take a trip to Hyper Japan next year. So that all of your Japanese dreams can come true...

Hyper Japan Outfit

Photos by @jas_sanders // Lookbook // Chictopia
Last Friday I saw myself donning all my kawaii inspired gear and accessories for an event that has been on my calendar for months, and goes under the name of Hyper Japan.  For those unfamiliar with the event it is basically a 3-day convention based at the O2 arena filled to the brim with Japanese inspired goodness, including food to feast your eyes over, traditional Japanese clothing/items, a nintendo gaming area and (of course) a whole area dedicated to KAWAII!
I hopped along to the event with a friend of mine (who is equally kawaii obsessed) in anticipation to feel fully inspired, and without doubt I did. I am actually planning on doing a separate blog post of the day later this week, so keep an eye out for it.

For the occasion I decided to wear a new purchase of mine from the Lazyoaf sale- a place where kawaii/girly/exceptionally cute dreams are made of. I actually picked up the skirt from their London store which has been top of my 'go-to' list for ages, and immediately fell in love with it as soon as I put it on.  Finally as the weather was warm and summery I decided to opt for a simple white halter neck, paired with my lilac (lazyoaf) backpack.
